Until last week, Human Rights Watch enjoyed a prodigious lead, having "found" - contrary to what every newspaper in the world had reported and what everyone saw with their own eyes on television - "no cases in which Hizbullah deliberately used civilians as shields to protect them from retaliatory IDF attack." - MORE>>

Both of these so-called "human rights" orgainizations are morally bankrupt and have no credibility. They protect evil and condemn what is right, and that means they are themselves guilty of crimes against humanity.

Meanwhile, Germany, Italy, and France apparently all have warships now in the Mediterranean off the Lebanon coast , according to DEBKA File. Two aircraft carriers are also part of the European naval force of some thirty warships off Lebanon. The purpose is believed to be to track U.S. and Israeli moves against Iran, which the Europeans believe are coming soon. The Israeli naval blockade also remains in effect for now. I really don't quite buy this story. For one thing, it doesn't take thirty warships to simply "monitor," and you would also want to have those ships in the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf. I see this as more of a potential threat to Israel, a further shield for Hizballah, and also as an early warning network to warn Iran and Syria of Israel launching an attack. None of these nations are really friendly to Israel, and so I don't trust this at all. Thirty warships constitute a significant force, and it's hard to explain the reason for it being off the coast of Lebanon.

Acording to sources, when UN Secretary General Kofi Annan arrived in Jerusalem, its was not Lebanon he wanted to talk about, but Iran that he had on his mind. Annan asked Olmert to give him a written promise that Israel would not attack Iran, so he could take the note to Tehran and hand it personally to Ahmadinejad! Olmert turned him down.

And Hassan Nasrallah rejected Annan's request that the two kidnapped Israeli soldiers be released immediately without conditions.

DEBKA sources also report Hizballah is doing some 'house cleaning':

"Hizballah’ special security service has begun rounding up suspects in the northern Beqaa Valley, Baalbek and South Lebanon of members and others suspected of tipping off Israel intelligence on the secret location of the storehouse holding the heavy Zelzal missiles. "

And in Syria, Hugo Chavez gets a big welcome:

Thousands of Syrians lined the streets of their capital Wednesday waving banners to welcome Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez who opened his visit with a pledge to stand by Syria in opposition to US "imperialism" in the Middle East.

Chavez has been making the rounds to visit every other anti-American and anti-Israel dictator in the world, and has plainly stated his hatred for the U.S. and Israel. He has now definitely aligned himself with Iran and Syria, and is looking for a huge increase in Venezuelan oil sales to China, and to cut back oil sales to the U.S.

Preach it, brother!

The Commission that never was:

The Commission of Inquiry's Conclusions
by Moshe Feiglin
Aug 29, '06 / 5 Elul 5766

The following are the conclusions of the Commission of Inquiry that will not be established. I still need to clean up a lot of junk and reclaim some of my disk space.

Ok, back to the business of blogging.

This report ran in the JP on Aug. 27th:

US support for Israel soars after Hizbullah war

The American public's support for Israel has risen sharply following the war with Hizbullah, according to a survey conducted by a Washington think tank.

While many in the United States back Israel because of its support for US policies and its Western, democratic culture and values, Israel's political backing found its base in American Christian beliefs, a survey conducted by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life reported on August 23. - MORE>>

It is interesting to note that support for Israel remains strongest among Christian conservatives, and that should serve as a wake up call for American liberal Jews, many of whom are not religious anyway and identify with the secular left. Yet it is on the left where we see most of the anti-Semitism, both in America and in Europe, and it is sharply on the rise. So why then are so many Jews liberals? What's going on here and what does this all mean? The issue goes straight to the heart of the current American crisis of self-doubt and self-hate.

I will attempt to answer these questions later today, as right now I have to prepare for my Hebrew class in a few hours.

----------

OK, a little late getting around to this, but better late than never I guess.

Most Jews are liberal because they fear persecution, and they believe that separation of church and state protects them from another pogrom. Also, if they appear secular or liberal, and divest themselves of much of their traditional Jewish religious identity, they feel like they can "blend in" and be accepted. Perhaps they even prefer the subject of religion not even be brought up. Considering history, it's a somewhat understandable reaction. Best to preach tolerance and multiculturalism. The bigger the school, and the more flash to confuse, the safer the little fish are from the sharks! It's all about not being noticed and singled out.

And America has indeed offered safety to Jews for the most part of its history, but that may be changing, and the threat comes as much from the extreme left as the extreme right.

But if you stop and think about it, the same is true for many people who came to America. Traditional ways of the "old country" (including traditional religious practices) are often exchanged for more secular and liberal American values during the process of assimilation. In a generation or two, the gap between the immigrants and their grandchildren can be pretty traumatic for all concerned. And here is where the problems come in, not only for America, but for Europe as well.

Western civilization is basically schizophrenic. It is founded on two very different world views. The secular, multicultural, liberal world view, along with the basis of Western law and government, emanates originally from Greece, and then especially Rome, dies off for some centuries, and then returns in force during the Renaissance, Protestant Reformation, and finally, the Enlightenment. In the meantime, during those centuries known as the "dark" and "middle" ages, another world view has spread throughout Europe and Asia and become dominant: Christianity. Its roots lie in Judaism, the Torah, and Israel. It will come to be known as the Judeo-Christian world view.

In time, the laws and doctrines of the Church become entertwined with the ancient laws and philosophy of Greece and Rome, to form the basis of canon law and scholasticism (Thomas Aquinas). The Jews have their own version of Thomas Aquinas in a man called Moses Maimonides, and these two intellectual giants lay the basis for "modern" orthodoxy in the two faiths.

Of course, these are not the only two great thinkers and giants of Christianity and Judaism. There are many others over the centuries, and it is the orthodox world view, philosophy, law, and ideas of these great thinkers and "holy men" (Doctors of the Church, Saints, and Rabbis and Jewish scholars) that will later clash directly with the ideas of the Enlightenment.

And so we come into "modern" Western civilization with these two competing and contrasting world views: Rome-Enlightenment vs Judeo-Christian. The first is centered very much on man and his success and power in this world, while the second is centered on G-d, The Law, Redemption, and the Bible.

The two systems can coexists to some extent, with the American experiment being the most obvious and successful example. For example, science and revelation can hold a dialogue without coming to blows , and the secular humanist and Christian/Jew can even agree on many of the laws that are necessary for society to remain viable and civilized. After all, Rome DID hold together for a long time, so they must have done some things right! And there is no reason that a Jew or Christian cannot be successful in this world and still love G-d and follow the Commandments. In fact, according to the Bible, man is supposed to make the world a better place, so science and technology are not anathema.

But at their core, the two world views are still at odds on many points. Consider the Middle Ages. Power for centuries lay in the hands of Kings and Lords, and, of course, in the hands of the Pope and Bishops. The Protestant Reformation brought about a major change in the status quo, and laid the groundwork for the Enlightenment. Historians are fond of saying that the Enlightenment was a revolution "against thrones and altars," and ideed it was! It overturned the system of the Middle Ages, and laid the groundwork for the modern industrial and scientific age. It's effects are still being felt today, and the conflict between faith, commandment, and revelation vs secular philosophy, law, and science rages on, especially in the legislative and judicial bodies of Europe and America.

The attack on religion that came with the Enlightenment was, and still is, more severe in Europe than in America, where both Christianity and Judaism still wield a lot of influence on society and people's lives. In Europe, on the other hand, the secularists seem to have won the day, at least for now, with membership in churches and synagogues still declining. In America, it's kind of a mixed bag, with some churches and synagogues growing rapidly, while others are declining. On the whole, however, America is becoming more secular and non-religious like Europe.

We hear a lot of talk these days about the "war on Christianity," the "war on Christmas," etc., and the message seems to be to keep religion a "private affair" and out of public view. It's the "politically correct" thing to do these days.

Christianity had little time to recover from the Enlightenment earthquake, to adjust itself to the industrial and scientific revolutions, when it was hit with the wars and socio-cultural wreckage of the twentieth century in existential crisis.

The record of secularism is not all that great. Untold tens of millions were murdered last century by secular regimes through wars, pogroms, holocausts, concentration camps, and numerous political purges and "cultural" revolutions. The twentieth century was a bloodbath, and the wars were NOT religious wars. It makes the Middle Ages look like a Sunday picnic! And then there is the loss of traditional values, moral equivalency, and the descent into chaos and hedonism. Nothing is sacred, and everything is relative.

And so modern American and European man is in the midst of an existential crisis and loss of faith in both secularism and religion. And it is this schizophrenia and uncertainty at the heart of Western civilization that is the cause of all the self-doubt and self-hate. Two world views, both in crisis and both at odds with each other. It's enough to make a civilization crash!

At this point, enter Islam. No self doubt there, no self-hate. It is unified and purposeful, and it is bent on conquest.

The stage has been set, and the show of the 21st century is about to begin...

Same Nazis, different decade...

Now that the two Fox News journalists have been freed by the terrorists who kidnapped them, it will be interesting to see the reaction of the American media in the coming days to the whole affair.

What do you think the response will be?

Will Western reporters no longer go into Gaza to cover "the story" of the oppressed 'Palestinians?'

Well, if today is any indication, the whole thing will be brushed off and quickly forgotten, because the liberal media is not about to let a little kidnapping stand in the way of their love affair with 'the Palestinians.' The REAL terrorists, as we all know, are the evil Jews..

See, Two Fox journalists freed by Palestinian kidnappers in Gaza after converting to Islam on new videotape.

Both Centanni and Wiig said at a press conference today that they hope no reporters will be discouraged from telling the Palestinians' story, and that the Palestinians are a "beautiful people" whose "plight" needs to be told. Centanni said they have enjoyed the hospitality of the Palestinian people.

I think I'm gonna be ill.

Al Jazeera's coverage of the release is a revealing read:

Fox News journalists freed.

Ismail Haniya, the Palestinian prime minister, said the kidnappers had nothing to do with al-Qaeda nor any known Palestinian groups..

Videos of the captives released by the kidnappers had borne all the hallmarks of hostage tapes shot by fighters in Iraq.

"These are young men who carried out the action out of private beliefs," Haniya told reporters.

No arrests have been made... MORE>>

The word on the "Arab street" is that the kidnappers were actually Fatah gangsters. Wow, that's a shocker! Not. Another report on DEBKA File says Palestinian warlord Zakaria Dughmush kidnapped the two journalists as an Hamas operation. It's an old Arafat trick: invent a new group with a name no one has heard of before, then pretend you know nothing about any acts of terrorism (even though YOU planned and ordered the attack), and then offer to negotiate the crisis as a sincere 'peacemaker.' That's how you turn a terrorist act into a positive PR and psyops campaign. Abbas and Haniya learned from the master Arafat how to manage such affairs. You just get someone else to do the dirty work so you can play hero.

Yet all I hear on Fox News today is how unfortunate it would have been if the two journalists had been harmed, and reporters no longer went to Gaza to tell the Palestinian story! Nope, they are just so "grateful" to the terrorists, and to Abbas and Haniya, that the two journalists are still in 'good health' and have been released. Never mind the conversion at gunpoint, or what this whole affair has put their families through. And never mind the mental rape of Centanni and Wiig, and the damage that has done.

What we should be hearing from the Western media, now that the two journalists are safe, is something along the lines of, "You bastards put a gun to their heads, kidnapped them, put their families through hell, and forced them at gunpoint to convert to Islam and read a pack of lies. You have been pulling this crap, and worse, for decades. You are scum, and we won't be back to tell your 'story' again. You can all go rot in hell."

Now THAT would be the moral thing to do. THAT might actually go a long ways towards stopping terrorism. Without media coverage, the whole point of the terrorist act is lost, as most terrorism is of little significance from a military point of view. It's public opinion where the real war is being waged.

And remember what I said about UNIFIL-2 being nothing more than a shield to PROTECT Hizballah while they REARM? Seems I'm not the only one who has figured out what's going on: Kofi Annan rides roughshod over Israel’s security concerns, leaves wide holes in expanded UNIFIL force. And also, European Lebanon Force Is Cast as Shield for Iranian-Hizballah Military Buildup.

What we are seeing is a rising worldwide tidal wave of anti-Semitism. The Moslems are winning the propaganda war:

Egypt Mufti: True face of blood-sucking Hebrew entity exposed

Sheikh Dr. Ali Gum'a publishes article in establishment newspaper al-Ahram in which he claims 'lies of Hebrew entity' expose 'ugly face of blood-suckers… who prepare matzo from human blood' - MORE>>

The new "final solution," it seems, is the same as the old "final solution," and a good portion of the world's nations are on board with it, including the United States. After all, the Moslems have all that oil, money, and NUMBERS on their side. It's a lot easier to blame everything wrong in the world on the Jews.

Shabbat Shalom!

"Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. What this means is that Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and Hizballah believe they won the war, and see no reason to give up anything. Their demands will now be even more outrageous, and unless Israel is ready to give in to these demands, the chances of getting the two kidnapped soldiers back are not looking good.

It is obvious to any rational person that the purpose of the "new" UNIFIL force is to protect Hizballah and serve as an obstacle to Israel taking any effective action to defend itself without drawing even more condemnation from the world. The "rules of engagement" between UNIFIL and Hizballah are simple: don't ask, don't tell.

The two main reasons given for the introduction of an international force were to disarm Hizballah and to patrol the border with Lebanon border with Syria. The UN has now announced that the new UNIFIL force (now being called UNIFL TWO) will do neither. So what then, is the REAL purpose of this alleged force? Since the force has no mandate with any teeth, in reality it is merely a "presence" that serves as human shields for Hizballah. UNIFIL TWO is there to get in the way of any Israeli military response and draw condemnation down on Israel should any UNIFIL soldiers get injured in a war zone. I read at least three official UNIFIL reports of Hizballah mortars falling on UNIFIL positions, and of Hizballah fighters using UNIFIL outposts to shield their operations, but yet there was no world and media outcry similiar to the one that followed Israeli ordnance falling on a UNIFIL outpost with Hizballah fighters all around it.

Israel now stands alone in the world, with weak and corrupt leadership in charge of the ship of state. Israel's strongest friend in the world, the United States, can no longer be trusted because of its own descent into corruption, greed, and moral relativism.

The solution in both cases (Israel and the U.S.) is NOT political, but spiritual:

Jewish Theology indeed offers a way to see the cure of sin syndrome in terms of a return from illness to health, and as a passage from alienation from God to reconciliation with God. What is the understanding of sin according to Jewish theology? “In the Rabbinic scheme sin is averah, from the root avar, ‘to pass over’, i.e. a rejection of God’s will. Man is thought of as being pulled in two different directions; the ‘good inclination’, yetzer ha-tov, pulling him in the direction of the good, the ‘evil inclination’, yetzer ha-ra, towards evil. Sin is the result of allowing the yetzer ha-ra to gain the upper hand.”

Sins can be found in several levels of seriousness, including heth, or unwitting sin, avon, or intentional sin, and peshah, outright rebellion against God.

What is the process of a possible cure? “The Hebrew word for repentance, teshuvah, means return. Yet it also means answer. Return to God is an answer to Him. For God is not silent. ‘Return O faithless children, says the Lord’ (Jeremiah 3:14).”- excerpt from: Jewish Theology Essays - Teshuvah

----------

Kofi Annan said today that, “It is generally accepted that the disarmament of Hezbollah cannot be done by force.”

"The troops are not going there to disarm Hezbollah, let’s be clear on that,” Annan told reporters.

Annan said all this was understood from the beginning, that this was an issue for the Lebanese Army, and that the disarming of Hizballah was a debate going on inside Lebanon before the conflict began.

Is this really the way the ceasefire deal was presented in the media as it was being worked out? What about UN Resolution 1559? Were we not told the purpose of UN 1701 was finally implement 1559, and that there would be no return to the status quo of Hizballah being a state within a state? Seems we were all misled by the scheming diplomats, and the REAL details of the deal are just now coming out. In fact, we were all lied to by the UN, and the United States, France, and Israel. They are all a bunch of liars.

Not wanting to be outdone by Annan in the popular sport of Israel bashing, the U.S. State Department Moslem lovers announced:

US investigating IDF cluster bomb use

This week, the US State Department began investigating Israel's use of American-made cluster bombs in south Lebanon, and whether their use violated secret agreements with Washington, The New York Times reported Friday. - MORE>>

Well, all this lying and betraying was it for me. I will never put my trust in these snakes, these Erev Rav, ever again! From now on I will look to HaShem for my answers. G-d can deal with the U.S. for taking sides with the haters of the Jewish people and Israel, and G-d can deal with those Jews who collaborate with these anti-Moshiach forces of the nations.

But was this not all predicted in the Torah - that there would come such a time when the nations would rage against Israel and come up against her people? HaShem has gathered, HaShem has planted, and, at the appointed time according to His will, HaShem will reap...

Teshuvah, not politics, is the answer. It is the method for avoiding "navigational error."

----------

Deuteronomy Chapter 11

א וְאָהַבְתָּ, אֵת יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ; The "roadmap for defeat" begins with the transformation of Ariel Sharon from right-wing nationalist to leftist appeaser and architect of "disengagement." Ehud Olmert continues the Sharon policy of throwing Jews out of their homes and giving the land over to the Arab terrorists who promptly turn it into staging areas for ever more violent attacks on Israel. This is supposed to lead to peace.

The only problem with the plan seems to be that both Sharon and Olmert ignore the fact that the Arabs want ALL the land, the State of Israel dissolved, and all the Jews dead. And it's not like the Arabs have kept their desires and intentions a big secret! A slight gliche you would think Olmert would notice.

At Olmert's victory speech, in March of 2006, he said the following:

"However, in recognition of reality and with comprehension of the circumstances, we are prepared to compromise, to give up parts of the beloved Land of Israel, where he best of our sons and fighters lie buried; to carry out a very painful evacuation of the Jews living there - in order to create the conditions which will enable you to fulfill your dream and to live alongside us, in your own state, in peace and tranquility.

"I expect to hear a similar announcement from the Palestinian Authority..." - from, Victory speech by Ehud Olmert after elections to the 17th Knesset, 28 Mar 2006

Olmert Slammed For Being ´Tired of Winning´

Critics of Olmert complain he lived up to his word when he said "we are tired of winning." The government is weakened by scandals and attacks on several fronts, but there are no signs it will fall. - MORE>>

Ehud Olmert on the Gaza Withdrawal – A Dreamy Return to Oslo
June 9, 2005

Israel's Vice Prime Minister Ehud Olmert revealed important points about Likud's thinking about the Gaza withdrawal in a speech today in New York to the Israel Policy Forum - MORE>>

"We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies…."

Ariel Sharon, Far-Leftist
March 11, 2005

Should anyone still have doubts about the political transformation of Ariel Sharon from stalwart of Israel's nationalist Right to paragon of its appeasing Left, Ori Nir dispels them in today's article... - MORE>>

I have printed the entire text of Olmert's June, 2005 speech below, and I think it is a real revelation of the mindset and thinking that has led to the current crisis in Israel and the IDF:

REMARKS BY ISRAEL’S VICE PRIME MINISTER EHUD OLMERT

ISRAEL POLICY FORUM TRIBUTE DINNER
JUNE 9, 2005

Todah Rabah.

Mrs. Karen Adler, chairman of this very exciting and moving event. My dear friends Seymour Reich and Marvin Lender, the distinguished honorees of this evening, the many supporters and friends of IPF, distinguished ladies and gentlemen.

There was a very strange experience that I was going through tonight. Everyone that came to me whispered in my ear, “You know, Mr. Olmert, we are really happy that you came. It’s so nice that you agreed to come” and, you know, similar such statements. And what I felt was that it really wasn’t so simple for you to invite me, on the first place. And let me tell you something, it wasn’t the most natural thing for me to accept the invitation. But I am very, very happy that I am here. And I am very, very happy that you invited me.

(Applause)

Thank you very much for this. And I will tell you why, why do I feel this way. Why do I feel for myself and why I dare say I feel happy for you that you have invited me. We have to depart from the old prejudices that somehow have dictated some of our positions in the past and to be able to break through the new horizons, which are developing for us in general, and this is also true about the internal relations within the Jewish people. I know that there are many people sitting here in this hall that feel very strange that a special letter of Ariel Sharon, Prime Minister of the State of Israel, is read in honor of the event of Israel Policy Forum. You will all admit it. It’s not the usual event where you get a letter from Prime Minister Sharon. And it’s not so simple and natural for Ariel Sharon to write a letter for a very significant and important Jewish organization, which hasn’t spared much love to him over the years. So, it only shows that things are changing. And, I’m very happy.

(Applause)

I’m very happy that things are changing. That doesn’t mean though, don’t get excited, that doesn’t mean though, that Sharon and you will agree on everything. I’m not certain that even I will agree with you on everything. There are still some differences. But we come closer, and we must be very happy about it. We must be very happy that we can come across the barriers that separated us as we move forward, and we try to move the State of Israel forward into new policies, into new horizons, and into dramatic changes, which hopefully will bring, at the end, peace and security to ourselves and to the Palestinians, that will live alongside the State of Israel in an independent state of their own.

(Applause)

This is a remarkable process, which we are going through now. What the government of Ariel Sharon is doing is a dramatic change that will have an enormous impact on everything that will happen thereafter, in the State of Israel and in the Middle East. The most fundamental part of this change is the understanding that it is incumbent first and foremost upon ourselves to make the move, that we don’t have to wait anymore, that we really don’t need the United States to lead the process in the Middle East, we will lead this process in the Middle East.

(Applause)

We will lead it because it’s good for us. And we will lead it because it may do good to the Palestinians. And we believe that if it will be good for us and will be good for the Palestinians, then it will be good. It will bring more security, greater safety, much more prosperity, and a lot of joy for all the people that live in the Middle East.

(Applause)

And we all desperately need it. We are tired of fighting, we are tired of being courageous, we are tired of winning, we are tired of defeating our enemies, we want that we will be able to live in an entirely different environment of relations with our enemies. We want them to be our friends, our partners, our good neighbors, and I believe that this is not impossible. It may not be as fast as we all want it to be, it may take longer than we expect, it is not as simple as it sometimes appears to the eyes of the outsiders that are not fully aware of all the complexities of the memories, and the biases, and prejudices and fears, and suspicions which characterize these relations between us and the Palestinians over such a long period of time. But this time I can say, that I have reached, as many of my colleagues, first and foremost the prime minister of Israel, that this is not impossible. That it is within reach if we will be smart, if we will dare, if we will be prepared to take the risks, and if we will be able to convince our Palestinian partners to be able to do the same. So that together we will move forward in this direction of building up different relations, better understanding, and greater trust between us and them.

(Applause)

I know that many people are very curious to know what will be on the day after the disengagement. I have been asked about it since I landed here yesterday early morning in New York, everyone wants to know. And I understand this curiosity but I’ll tell you, the disengagement is so important, is so crucial, and is so sensitive, that at this time what we have to do is first and foremost make sure that it will be carried out as planned within the timetable set forth by the prime minister, starting on the fifteenth of August this year, ending within no longer than one month, so that by mid-September, Israel will be outside of the Gaza District and the northern part of Samaria in the West Bank.

(Applause)

If God forbid this will not be carried out, than believe me it is entirely immaterial what will be on the day after. If this will be carried out as planned, and I believe that it will be carried out as planned because we will not allow anything to interfere with our plans, and with our commitment to carry it out. If this will be done, than everything will be changed. We will know that we have to make painful sacrifices, and that part of this sacrifice is also to pullout from areas which were inhabited by the State of Israel for the last thirty-eight years. Don’t take it lightly. It is not easy. There are some who don’t like the settlers. There are many who believe that they have caused a great damage. We, in my party, in the Likud, and I am a Likud member and a proud Likud member, and my government, we have enormous respect for the patriotic emotions, for the dedication and sacrifice that these settlers have manifested for what they believe is the good for Israel in so many years. And when we come to them today and we say to them, “you have to leave your homes,” we don’t do it with joy, but with a deep conviction that this is what we need for the future of the State of Israel.

(Applause)

But this is not easy. It is perhaps the most serious internal crisis that the State of Israel went through from the very beginning of our national life in 1948. There never was such a confrontation which evolves on the very basic fundamental principles that have shaped the Zionist efforts for so many years. That’s why it was so difficult to reach that stage and this is why it is so painful to carry it out in the way that we are doing it. But as I said, not out of joy, not without hesitations, not without fears, but ultimately with a deep conviction that this is an inevitable stage in the process of changing the realities that have characterized the life of the Middle East for so many years on the way to create a new environment of relations between us and the Palestinians. And I think that the beauty of this policy of the Israeli government is that this is a unilateral action. No one imposed it on us, no government, no foreign government, forced Israel to pullout from these territories. We have reached the conclusion that this is essential in order to change the realities and to move forward to break the status quo, and to start something that ultimately will lead to a new dialogue between us and the Palestinians. We are in a very initial stage of building this dialogue. We have to overcome enormous difficulties. There are so many mutual suspicions, there are so many doubts on both sides, there are so many fears. We still have to see that the Palestinians are prepared to fight against terror in the most serious manner and disarm the terrorist organizations which are the real enemies of this process.

(Applause)

But, we are prepared to take the first risk. We are prepared to make the first move. We are prepared to risk the existence of this government, the majority that we have in the Knesset, the stability of our political party, in order to break through so that this reality will not be a hypothetical but will indeed be part of our lives. Everything depends on the success of this disengagement. And I came here tonight to tell you, on behalf of Prime Minster Sharon, on behalf of the Israeli government, that we are confident that this disengagement will be successful and that it will then lead to the beginning of a new pattern of relations between us and the Palestinian Authority (Applause) and that these relations will develop into a meaningful dialogue. Again, I don’t want to be carried away beyond reasonable limits with my expectations and desires and hopes that everything will work out all right. There will be lots of hurdles, it will not be easy, the terrorist organizations will try to carry out some of their actions. Terror will not disappear overnight, but we know that there is no alternative and we pray that the Palestinians will understand that there is no alternative. And if they will understand what we know now than things will change. And we will spare no effort in order to convince them, not by fighting with them, not by killing them, not by reaching out for their leaders, but by sitting with them, and talking with them, and helping them, and cooperating with them, and partnering with them in order to establish a new foundation for economic growth, for cooperation, for the improvement of the quality of life of the Palestinians and the Israelis, so that the Middle East will indeed become what it was destined to be from the outset, a paradise for all the world, and not a battleground for people that are destined to live together and not fight with each other.

(Applause)

It’s not as simple as we all hope it to be. But it is achievable, and that’s why we are taking these careful steps now because we want to make sure that no mistake will endanger this process. It is only a matter of two months, on the fifteenth of August. I pray, that a month later, when all Israelis will be resettled inside the State of Israel and the Gaza District will be sovereign entirely by the Palestinians, that a new morning of great hope will emerge in our part of the world. I believe with all my heart that we in Israel are ready for it. I pray that the Palestinian leadership will seize this opportunity, will become as responsible as they need to be, will manifest courage and determination, so that they will be able to live up to the challenge which they have to face in order to meet the goodwill and the desires for peace that are now governing the leadership of the State of Israel. I believe that this change is going to be the beginning of a great time for all of us in the Middle East and I hope that all of you here, and many other places in America, who have been partners, supporters and contributors to the well-being of the State of Israel and the Jewish people, will be able to be proud of what we are doing and of what we will achieve for the people of Israel, for the Palestinians, for the entire Middle East.

Thank you very much.

(Applause) ---END OF SPEECH ---

Well, Mr. Olmert, if you think winning a war is tough and expensive, try losing one.

The Moslems will NEVER make peace with Israel. It will never happen so long as Islam exists, as long as Moslems exist. The only peace possible for Israel is that purchased in increments following the successful prosecution of a period of war. Israel must buy its peace with blood for blocks of years, each block being of such duration as it takes the Moslems to recover and rearm and try again to wipe Israel out forever. I do not believe that Israel will be destroyed, or that the Jews will be scattered again out of the land. Not this time. Something will happen to prevent that.

Olmert has not changed. You bet. I told you so. Fire Rumsfeld, and reinstate the draft. The volunteer military is a BAD idea from the git-go, made even worse by a Secretary of Defense whose concepts of what our defense architecture should look like are seriously flawed, mainly because of his disregard for the value of sheer numbers in warfare (of both men and machines).

I have been saying these things for over two years, and so have many generals and admirals. An all volunteer military is a really bad idea for a nation, especially a nation like the United States. War is not a "lifestyle choice." To protect one's country is everyone's duty, and to make it a lifestyle choice, or just another profession, is not a moral position, nor does it build the character you want in a nation's young people who will be the future leaders and, hopefuly, responsible citizens.

An all volunteer military sends the wrong message to everyone. It allows and promotes self doubt and self hate as an accepted fixture of the national psyche. It is a symptom of a society that is no longer sure enough of itself to ask people to risk all to defend it. It tells people they can have the benefits, but not the responsibility, and that they can leave it up to the other guy (or the UN). It also allows naive anti-war liberals and assorted moonbats to become "useful idiots" manipulated by dedicated leftists and other sinister forces with an agenda.

This is why I no longer see the United States as a trustworthy ally when it comes to war, and it is also why petty little dictators like Ahmadinejad think they can beat us by waging prolonged asymmetrical warfare to break out will. They aim directly for the weak point: our national psyche and moral character.

America's enemies have studied Vietnam and its after effects, both on our national psyche and our military theory and post-Vietnam transformation. They have learned how to fight us from the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong. It is interesting to note that Fatah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad have all issued statements calling for the release of the two Fox News journalists, and condemning their kidnapping. That tells you that they understand just how much the war is being fought in the media as a propaganda and psyops campaign. The media is all part of the overall asymmetrical strategy.

And they have learned how to fight Israel as well. Hizballah has learned these lessons perhaps better than any other Islamic terror orgnanization. Israel has become vulnerable because it has become like America and "the nations" in both its corrupt PC politics, and its military theory and architecture. Israel's crisis is one of will and character.

"Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if ye shall hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day; and the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. " - Deuteronomy 11:26-28 (from Parsha Re'eh)

----------

The House Intelligence Committee has issued its report on Iran (.pdf file) The threat from Iran's conventional forces is minimal, and disruption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz would be the main threat. Iran would be defeated quickly in a conventional war with the U.S. or Israel. A more serious threat is Iran and Syria's support for the insurgency in Iraq and for Hizballah in Lebanon. A prolonged pan-Middle Eastern terror campaign and guerilla style insurgency could stir up the entire Islamic world and cause chaos and outbreak of hostilities in multiple places. The big threat, of course, is Iran getting the bomb, and the continued development of missiles to deliver the nuclear warheads.

Syria threatens to shut Lebanon border. Syria has rejected the presence of UN troops on the Lebanon-Syria border, and calls it a "hostile position." Siniora more or less tells Assad that Lebanon can handle its own affairs. Israel, of course, is demanding that the border with Syria be patrolled by the UN force, to stop arms shipments to Hizballah, as was called for in the UN resolution.

From Yoni the Blogger: "Battalion Commander's Anger." Now it's not so much the democracy part that Moslems object to, as they will most likely vote an Islamic style theocracy into existence in short order when given the chance to vote, but it's the "Western style" they have a problem with, especially when it comes to freedom of religion and various other Western values. In fact, even the Sunni and Shia cannot tolerate one another, as we are finding out once again in Iraq. Islam does not tolerate competition, and the religious leaders are not about to surrender their power over the people without a fight, and Moslems are brainwashed from birth to keep it that way. If suicide bombers do not convince us of how much they hate the non-believer, then nothing will.

All you have to do is listen to the words of Bin Laden, Zawahiri, Ahmadinejad, Nasrallah, or any of the other Islamic leaders, and you will find that we are indeed at war with fundamental Islam. They all view Israel, the United States, and Britain, as a direct challenge to the supremacy of the Islamic religion in the world, and the majority of Moslems in the world would seem to agree with them. You can argue otherwise, but I will choose to believe my own eyes and ears. As for who the fascists are, all you have to do is look at the history of Islam during WWII, and you will have the answer.

----------

Ambassador John Bolton just said in this morning's press conference that the U.S. position has always been that the issue of Hizballah's disarming would be addressed in a SECOND UN resolution. Right. We shall see how THAT goes, since they can't even seem to get the first one up and running. One of the chief architects of the first resolution, France, has already bailed out. This is why so many observers, myself included, cried "foul" when the diplomats started talking about a "two resolution solution." We could see the sellout coming. I have no reason to believe any different today.

Iran, as expected, has issued its formal reply today to UN demands that it halt its nuclear program. Details of the response have not yet been released. Now we shall find out how serious everyone is about stopping Iran from getting the bomb...

One of those days...

Yep, today's one of those days where I'm so disgusted that I just don't have much to say that I haven't already said a hundred times over recently.

I should have know better than to start my day by watching the Bush press conference this morning, followed by the John Bolton press conference.

"Hopefully, over time, Hezbollah will disarm." (Yes, and hopefully I will hit the lottery, too, Mr. President!)

I guess I should have watched the History Channel, or the Outdoor Channel, or something. Or maybe I should have just listened to Israel National Radio on the net. At least that remains a small island of sanity in this crazy world.

America is in deep, deep trouble. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans have a clue about how to deal with the threats America is facing in the world. As for the "war on terror," they don't even know who the enemy is, or what it is they are dealing with. Consequently, the strategy is all wrong, and the tactics are more reactive rather than proactive. Bush has virtually no understanding at all of the Middle East or how to deal with the Islamic nations. He talks a good tough game at times, but it's all about as relevant as the now dead "Bush Doctrine." (Which was a GOOD doctrine, by the way! The "new" Bush Doctrine appears to be to hand everything over to the UN and the Europeans to deal with. Iran and North Korea have both correctly judged that the U.S. is now all talk and no trousers. Former Sec. of State Lawrence Eagleburger is saying pretty much the same thing on the Neil Cavuto Show right now.)

To make matters worse, the American military is being totally mismanaged by Rumsfeld, the intelligence and federal LE agencies are being totally mismanaged by Chertoff and Negroponte, and the State Department is a total disaster under Condoleezza Rice.

Don't bother to look to the Democrats for help, because they are even more clueless than the Republicans. Third parties? Don't even waste your time even looking at any of them. Like I said, we are in deep trouble here in the USA.

I said over two years ago that the threats to America were greater than at any other time in our nation's history, and that the U.S. should immediately reinstate the draft and begin a massive military buildup. We still need to do that, and the longer we wait, the worse the scenario will be. Divisions of men, ships, and planes are not built and made operational overnight.

As for that $230 million Bush wants to spend in Lebanon to rebuild, you might as well just send someone over with the money in a big briefcase and hand it to Hassan Nasrallah in person. Talk about a stupid waste of taxpayer money. Let Iran foot the bill. They are responsible.

And how many billions did we recently spend in Pakistan and Indonesia after the earthquake and tsunami disasters? Last time I looked, they were all still marching in the streets, burning American and Israeli flags, and shouting, "Death to Bush," "Death to America," and, "Death to Israel!"

Some time back, the Congress approved a defense bill that included money to help modernize the Lebanese Army. That was before the current conflict started up. As I understood it, Congress was now going to have to re-approve the release of that money, but maybe they have already given the ok, because Bush also mentioned spending money on the Lebanese Army.

You might as well arm Hizballah itself. Either way, you are arming those who want to destroy Israel.

Way to go, Mr. President.

And again we heard about how the Siniora government was democratically elected. A bit of advice, Mr. President, maybe you could hold off on spending all those millions of the taxpayers' money until AFTER the next election in Lebanon. Just a thought.

Yep, I'm sure that Hizballah fighter is gonna be real grateful to the good ole USA for a little cash handout, when while he was away fighting the IDF, the IAF bombed his house with American made bombs, killing all his family! Do you really think he is gonna jump for joy when you hand him $10,000 to build another house? My guess is he will buy a tent, and spend the rest on more hand grenades and bullets! Besides, his family were just as much terrorists as he was, and that includes the little kiddies, who are taught to hate and kill Jews from the time they can walk and talk. Like one Hizballah fighter in the Bekaa Valley told a reporter, "We are Hizballah All my women are Hizballah, and all my children are Hizballah. We are ALL Hizballah!"

It's one thing to help an enemy rebuild AFTER they have been totally defeated, and quite risky to help them when they are busy rearming for the next round and still full of fight.

----------

Wow! I just went over to Lazer's site, and what do I find just as the sun is going down here on my little mountain? As I said, I was having "one of those days" after listening to Bush this morning, and then I read this: When the brain kicks out. And to counter my negative "sunset mood" for today he has a nice sunrise photo from Israel! He must have wrote this just for me! Thanks Lazer!

Tamar Yonah called me from Israel yesterday, and we had a nice talk. Her show is always good, and everyone should make sure not to miss it. The most recent shows are also available on the INR website, in case you miss one.

----------

Infanticide - Mullah Style

A new study of 115 Iranian school textbooks concludes that Iran is preparing its children for war, and is willing to risk massive casualties for the opportunity to defeat America in a world-wide cataclysmic confrontation...- MORE >>

So are these children, these terrorists and combatants in training, "innocent civilians?" There is a saying that 'soldiers do not go to war, nations do.' Fighters are kept in the field by the entire civilian support and supply infrastructure, and women and children can be involved in the war effort or be combatants.

There are some wars where concerns over "collateral damage" are justified. It all depends on the particular circumstances and the nature of the enemy you are fighting. In other wars, to hold on to such concerns over some notion of maintaining "the moral high ground" is neither justified nor moral. It is not moral to prolong or loose a war against an evil enemy. We understood this very well when we were fighting Hitler and the Nazis, and the doctrine of "mutually assured destruction" worked during the Cold War because it meant the destruction not only of armies, but of cities and population centers. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were realities that could not be ignored.

Now, we face an enemy that is willing to commit both individual AND national suicide to achieve its goal of Islam dominating the world: "Islam will dominate, and we will bring on Armageddon to make it so!" And, of course, they believe allah will give them the victory and they will somehow survive the conflagration to finally realize their Islamic paradise on earth. And if they loose, well, allah will give them a paradise in another world. So either way they win according to their way of thinking. The only way to defeat such a determined enemy is to take them out first BEFORE they get the capability to bring on Armageddon. Any other choice is not morally defensible.

G-d and Israel vs. the nations

Israel's reaction to the transfer of the Costa Rican Embassy to Tel Aviv

Aug 17, 2006
========================

Information Department, Israel Foreign Ministry -

JerusalemWebsite: http://www.mfa.gov.il/

E-mail: feedback@mfa.gov.il
========================
Jerusalem, 17 August 2006

Israel's reaction to the transfer of the Costa Rican Embassy to Tel Aviv
(Communicated by the Foreign Ministry Spokesman)

The government of Israel expresses its regret and disappointment at the decision by the government of Costa Rica to move its embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv. This act, taken at this particular time, is liable to be interpreted as giving in to terrorism and awarding its perpetrators. Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel and the Jewish people and nothing will change our firm stand on this subject.

Let us be honest about the reality of the situation. There are over one billion Moslems in the world, and Moslem nations have a good portion of the world's oil. Israel is of little significance to most nations of the world, and they could care less if the Jews all disappeared from the face of the earth tomorrow, and then, they believe, there would finally be peace in the Middle East.

Here is how Al Jazeera reported the embassy move:

Costa Rica moves embassy to Tel Aviv
Thursday 17 August 2006, 3:22 Makka Time, 0:22 GMT

Arias aims to win more friends in the Middle East

The new president of Costa Rica has said that his country will move its embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, in a move that pleases Arab nations.

Oscar Arias, a former Nobel Peace Prize winner, said on Wednesday that he made the decision to win more friends in the Middle East and comply with United Nations' resolutions. - MORE>>

Well, again, let's be honest, this is more about 'pleasing Arab nations,' and not some UN resolutions, which everyone pretty much ignores as it suits them. UN resolutions hardly ever have any teeth in them, and so they are just convenient excuses at times for nations to do what they already want to do anyway.

The UN has historically been more akin to a corrupt criminal enterprise than any sort of legitimate international body deserving of any respect or legal authority. The real power lies with a small group of nations, not with the UN itself or the fictional "international community." Morality seldom, if ever, enters into the picture. It's all about power, arm twisting, and back room deals.

Consequently, those who cite the UN partition vote, or the arguments of the secular Zionists, as their 'authority' to justify the existence of the State of Israel, are basing everything on a democratic vote and claims that are forever subject to dispute. And why would you want to defend the existence of the State of Israel by citing as your authority an organization with a long record of anti-Semitism, and biased anti-Israel, pro-Moslem resolutions, statements, and actions? Besides, votes can change overnight, and disputes usually mean the matter is settled by force anyway. Human law is often arbitrary and subject to change, and democracy alone does not guarantee anything. The UN could vote to dissolve Israel some day just as easily as they voted to establish it! In the real world, Israel "established" itself by its own declaration and the armed force to back it up.

The claim of the Jews to the land of Israel is based on the covenant between G-d and Israel found in the Torah. Period. Now that can still be disputed by men, and that means conflict and force, but the Torah as the source of authority for the Jewish claim to the land is not an arbitrary human agency. Let the nations dispute it if they so choose. We shall see how it all turns out in the end...

On the other side of the coin, let's look at the case of Iran. Ahmadinejad says Iran, as a sovereign nation, has as much right to a nuclear weapon as any other nation. He is correct. The United Nations has no real lawful authority over sovereign nations. It is NOT a world government - although it pretends to be such at times. The UN can pass all the resolutions it wants, but unless they are backed up by force, they are not worth the paper they are written on. Let's not pretend that we wish to deny nuclear weapons to Iran because the UN itself has some legal right to decide who gets what weapons. It doesn't.

The reason that you don't want Ahmadinejad and the Ayatollahs to have nuclear weapons is obvious: they are insane fascist criminals and fanatics! Ahmadinejad is another Hitler wannabe, and just like the law in most places denies convicted felons their right to possess guns because of their bad character and evil intent, likewise with Iran. So the argument you make against Iran getting the bomb is a moral argument based on the criminal character of the regime. And, as with all law, even that which has a moral basis, it will have to be backed up with force. But whose "law" is it? Certainly not the UN's. It is the "law" of those nations who don't want Iran to get the bomb, and the basis is a moral argument!

So all law is arbitrary and depends on force. I would argue that the only law that deserves respect is law with a moral basis. And where does this morality come from? Who defines what is "moral?" Now that's the $64,000 question, isn't it? I will leave everyone to think on this, because it lies at the very basis of what we call "civilization."

----------

A moment to be seized in Lebanon By Charles Krauthammer
http://www.jewishworldreview.com/

The charm of any U.N. Security Council resolution lies in the preamble, which invariably begins by "recalling" all previous resolutions on the same subject that have been entirely ignored, therefore necessitating the current resolution. Hence newly minted Resolution 1701: Before mandating the return of south Lebanon to Lebanese government control, it lists the seven Security Council resolutions going back 28 years that have demanded the same thing. - MORE>>

See also, Annan Says Israel Violated U.N. Resolution . And of course we all know Kofi wouldn't jump the gun before the facts are known, and Hizballah's right to arm itself must, after all, be protected. Lebanon must defend itself against the evil Zionists. Oh wait, that's right, the UN resolutions said Hizballah was supposed to disarm (no armed militias in Lebanon and all that stuff, remember), so I guess Kofi will take care of that. If only Israel would just learn to trust Annan! He is, after all, a man of his word... right? And we all know what that's worth.

----------

Members of the militant Indonesian Mujahidin Council (MMI) conduct exercises in Solo, central Java August 20, 2006. The militants say they would volunteer to fight Israel if given the opportunity. REUTERS/Andry Prasetyo (INDONESIA)

Indonesia is one of the Moslem countries offering to send troops to Lebanon under the expanded UNIFIL. Israel today again rejected the deployment of troops under UNIFIL from countries that do not recognize Israel and have no relations with Israel.

France, and a number of other Middle Eastern Arab states, have now offered to sell weapons to the Lebanese Army. France and the United States have both maintained that the Siniora government must be propped up because it was democratically elected and is the legitimate government of Lebanon. Never mind all the pro-Hizballah, anti-American, anti-Israel statements by various members of the Lebanese government, nor the fact that Hizballah is now poised to possibly control that government come next elections, thanks to Nasrallah's hero status and all the Iranian money flowing into Lebanon through Hizballah. Never mind that the Lebanese Army is full of Shiites who openly support Hizballah, and that the Siniora government thanked Hizballah for defending Lebanon and called them "our Moslem brothers." Lebanon is a terrorist state, and who cares if it was democratically elected. All this only proves is that democracy is a very dangerous form of government when the people themselves do not adhere to moral principles and are of degenerate character, or subscribe to a fanatic fascist ideology like Islam.

It was not all that long ago that Ariel Sharon really upset the French when he called for all Jews to leave France because of the rising anti-Semitism there, and yet this is the "lead" nation in the new UNIFIL. France has now openly sided with the Arabs against Israel, and it was totally predictable. George Bush and Condoleezza Rice had to know all this, so the Bush administration is playing Israel for a fool. Is Israel simply "bait" in a larger American scheme?

So let's arm the Lebanese to the teeth, and protect and rearm Hizballah through the auspices of the UN and the nations supplying troops to the 'new and improved' UNIFIL. Any sane person can only interpret this as laying the groundwork for an even greater attack on Israel in the future. So is Israel an expendable pawn in the U.S. scheme of things? It would appear so. Is Olmert really Armilius the Wicked, the Anti-Moshiach? Will Moshiach now soon appear in Tsfat, to ultimately destroy Armilius with the 'breath of his mouth' as is predicted? All the nations are now gathered against Jerusalem and Israel.

I am not qualified to answer these questions, and will defer to those rabbis who are experts in these mysteries, and in Torah and Kabbala. All I can say is that I am now paying very close attention to what these learned Tzadiks and scholars are saying these days and to events.

----------

Other stories that caught my eye today:

Hezbollah night-vision gear was from Britain, Israel says

Weaponizing Civilization: The New Way of War (Well, I have been pointing this out all along. Bangladesh? Yep, I guess they will go anywhere there might be food. While Israel has objected to the force including troops from Moslem nations that do not recognize Israel, the UN has responded by saying that it is the UN that will determine the composition of the force, and not Israel. In other words, Israel can go to hell. So far, the Europeans have been unwilling to pony up much of anything, but various Moslem nations seem eager enough to volunteer.

President Bush said today that the force was not there to disarm Hizballah, but to make them "feel uncomfortable." So what are they gonna do, shut off Hizballah's air conditioning? Obviously, this is not what was understood by everyone when this whole deal was being put together. We were all told that UN Resolution 1559 was finally going to be implemented, and that there would be no return to the status quo. So Bush is nothing but a liar.

In fact, any sane person looking at what has happened, and is happening, since the passage of UN Resolution 1701, would now have to conclude that this is all some deliberate plot by the United States, the Europeans, and the United Nations, to destroy Israel. Everything about this deal is pro-terrorist and is placing Israel in mortal danger. To now see the Bush and Olmert administrations trying to spin this as some sort of pro-West, pro-Israel 'victory,' involves the most convoluted and twisted reasoning and rewriting of dictionary definitions that I have ever seen in my lifetime! If Americans and Israelis buy all this, then they will believe ANYTHING!

And how does Condi Rice even manage to keep a straight face (much less sleep at night) :

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the force would not be responsible for disarming Hizbullah. That would be the responsibility of the Lebanese, Rice said in an interview with USA Today. She said that in the past, the Lebanese government had been unwilling or unable to disarm Hizbullah.

"I don't think there is an expectation that this force is going to physically disarm Hizbullah," Rice said. "I think it's a little bit of a misreading about how you disarm a militia. You have to have a plan, first of all, for the disarmament of the militia, and then the hope is that some people lay down their arms voluntarily." - MORE>>

Yep, Condi, I've had the same "plan" myself for years for hitting the Powerball: "Man, I sure hope I win the lottery."

I'm still waiting... and hopeful. (G-d to Moshe: "Hey, Moshe, buy a ticket!" We've all heard the joke. Somebody tell Condi.)

I think it's high time we speak some truth here: THE BUSH/RICE/FRANCE BROKERED UN DEAL, RESOLUTION 1701, WAS PUT IN PLACE TO PROTECT HIZBALLAH. THE UNITED STATES HAS NOW ALIGNED ITSELF WITH THE MOST ANTI-SEMITIC, ANTI-JEWISH, ANTI-ISRAEL FORCES IN THE WORLD, AND THE CORRUPT ISRAELI GOVERNMENT IS APPARENTLY ON BOARD WITH THAT. OLMERT CAN'T EVEN WAIT FOR THE WAR TO END BEFORE THROWING MORE JEWS OUT OF THEIR HOMES!

It's time for Jews to realize that the United States is NOT their friend, and that as the Moslem population in the U.S. increases, and the price of oil goes higher, public opinion will turn against the Jews and it will no longer be safe for Jews to be in America. The time to get out is NOW. Many self-hating liberal Jews, of course, will ignore all this, and will still believe that peace with Islam is possible. They will not leave America and their cushy lives and jobs. A lot of Jews in Germany also refused to leave, in spite of all the warning signs from Hitler and the Nazis, and refused to believe that Germany would turn on them. These are the Jews who say, "It can't happen here." It is time to trust HASHEM, and not the nations and the Erev Rav.

Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say: 'He that scattered Israel doth gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.' - Jeremiah 31:9 (read Jeremiah Chapter 31)

All the nations will now rage against Israel, and come up against us in these days before Moshiach, but HASHEM will keep Israel, and He has placed a hook in the mouth of the nations. The "hook" is a strong delusion, a belief that:

"For he hath said: by the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I am prudent; in that I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and have brought down as one mighty the inhabitants; And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathereth eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped." - Isaiah 10:13,14

And from Simply Jews, a good read on the absurdity of the current situation:

Cheer up, boys, the cavalry is coming!

Nah...

I waited for a day or two to see how the cards are falling with the "beefed up" UNIFIL force that is supposed to begin its mighty reign in south Lebanon. Of course, we were promised to see the iron fist of French, Italian and German manufacture (with a bit of a glove, of course, but it could not be helped - after all it is an European production). - MORE>>

Meanwhile, some IDF soldiers away at the front in Lebanon will soon find out that the Olmert government and IDF has thrown them out of their homes while they were away fighting: And it starts up, once again...

Soldiers unhappy with war handling

Soldiers returning from the war in Lebanon say the army was poorly prepared, slow to rescue injured comrades and suffered from a lack of supplies so dire that soldiers had to drink water from the canteens of dead enemies.

"We fought for nothing. We cleared houses that will be reoccupied (by Lebanese Hizbullah guerrillas) in no time," said Ilia Marshak, a 22-year-old infantryman who spent a week inside Lebanon. - MORE>>

Well, this is what you get when the government politicians and defense managers are corrupt and incompetent. We have the exact same problem with the Bush administration here in the States. Bush, Rice, and Rumsfeld have made an absolute mess of foreign policy and defense, and our soldiers pay the price. The Democrats are no better. There is no political party left in the U.S. with an ounce of sanity, common sense, or morality. We are without real leaders and statesmen. This is why Israel must set it's own house in order (Tshuva would be a good place to start!), and free itself from dependency on the U.S. at every opportunity. The United States can no longer be trusted to keep its word or stay the course if the going gets tough. Sad, but true. Forget the U.S., trust G-d!

----------

Here in the U.S., Moslem groups like MPAC and CAIR are complaining loudly about Bush's recent use of the term Islamo-fascist. However, the term is both appropriate AND historically accurate: The Grand Mufti and Adolph Hitler (Video)

----------

Israel's U.N. While Israel's defense minister has named an inquiry commission to look into the handling of the difficult war with Hezbollah, there are also calls today for an independent investigation, as Israelis ask, what went wrong. And joining us now here in Jerusalem, the former director of the Mossad, Israel's intelligence service, Efraim Halevy. Mr. Levy thanks very much for coming in. A lot of people are pointing fingers here in Israel right now. First of all, based on what you know and the history that you have, was there an intelligence failure in Israel as to the capability, the military capability of Hezbollah?

EFRAIM HALEVY, FORMER MOSSAD HEAD: I do not think there was an intelligence failure. I think over the years, information is collected of a wide range of sources. And I think that there was sufficient intelligence in the hands of those who needed it, in order to use it when the time came.

BLITZER: Because a lot of people were surprised at how robust, how strong, how unified Hezbollah emerged over this 33, 34 day war.

HALEVY: As far as I'm concerned, I was not surprised and I don't think that colleagues of mine were surprised. I think it was known for over years that Hezbollah was a robust, capable, deadly enemy with a guerrilla capacity, which was second to none.

BLITZER: Which suggests that the military, the IDF, the Israel Defense Forces, or the political leadership, the prime minister, the defense minister, they got it wrong, they had the intelligence but they didn't know what to do with it.

HALEVY: No I don't think that was the case. I think that over the years there was a policy here not to confront Hezbollah for a variety of reasons, political and otherwise. And when the time came and when the powers that be in this country decided to move, they moved. I don't think that there was a problem here of a lack of intelligence or a lack of knowledge at the highest level.

BLITZER: Did Israel fully understand the sophistication, the weapons, the missiles, the rockets that Hezbollah was getting presumably from Iran, through Syria. For example, that one rocket that hit that ship early on in the war and knocked it out. That seemed to have caught the Israeli navy by surprise.

HALEVY: It may have caught the Israeli navy by surprise. I think that's an isolated case. But by and large, I think there was a good idea here of the capabilities of Hezbollah, the nature of the weaponry they had, the performance of the weaponry which they had, the sophistication of the weaponry they had. It was known that the Iranians and the Syrians would supply Hezbollah with the best they could.

BLITZER: Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, we know, and Israeli officials have confirmed this, that Israel tried to take him out several times during this war. From your perspective, as a former Mossad director and presumably you've given the order to take out enemies of Israel on many occasions. Is that a legitimate target to go after someone like Hassan Nasrallah?

HALEVY: Hassan Nasrallah is the head of a terrorist movement, he's not just a political leader. And I think that in times of war the way they were a month ago, in terms of the nature of the threat that he posed, I think that it was legitimate then, to consider Nasrallah a target. As you know, his predecessor was targeted several years ago in 1992.

BLITZER: And he was killed.

HALEVY: And he was killed. And this, of course, set in motion a series of very, very serious bloody reactions. I think in this case, had we succeeded, had Israel succeeded, it could well be that there would be similar reactions. But he is a very, very formidable foe and is a key figure in the whole plot.

BLITZER: How dangerous to Israel, from Israel's existence and existential threat, is the potential of Iran, under the current regime, of Ahmadinejad, getting a nuclear bomb?

HALEVY: Well I hate to disappoint you. I don't believe that there is an existential threat to Israel. I believe that there is a deadly threat to Israel. I think that the Iranian nuclear threat to Israel is a serious one, it is a threat which we have not faced up to before, I don't think that Iran will ever be able to erase Israel from the map.

BLITZER: Well I don't know why you're saying you're disappointing me to say that, but that's encouraging, certainly from everyone in Israel's perspective and all of Israel's friends around the world. Does Israel though, have the capability to take out Iran's nuclear facilities?

HALEVY: I won't give you a direct answer to that question. What I will say is that I believe that if there was a confrontation from Israel and Iran, Israel will find the ways and means of not having to suffer the brunt of the Iranian capability.

BLITZER: Just elaborate, I'm not exactly sure I understand what you're saying.

HALEVY: I say that there are a variety of means that can be used in order to prevent Iran from taking the step of putting its nuclear capability to the test. I think Iran in the final analysis will be deterred, if he has the capability, if it obtains the capability from using it.

BLITZER: Efraim Halevy, former Mossad director and the author of the important book, "Man in the Shadows." Thanks very much for joining us.

HALEVY: Thank you, it was a pleasure being here.

----------

BREAKING:

Israel freezes West Bank plans - Israel’s government froze plans to pull out from parts of the West Bank. - MORE>>

----------

Bush: World will accept war was a Hizbullah loss

US President George W. I guess I would have done the same thing if I were them," Bush said after a meeting with his economic advisers. Allahu Akbar!" - Moslem suicide bombers

Islam: Allahu Akbar! (Allah is great!) "Allahu Akbar," is shouted out by Moslems as they saw off heads, fly airplanes into buildings, and blow themselves up in suicide bombings to kill as many people as they can. "Allahu Akbar" is a common 'prayer' in Islam that is heard on many different occasions. It is what Zarqawi's terrorists yelled out as they cut off the heads of their captives.

"These are the first words a Muslim child hears after entering this world. The father makes the call to prayer in his or her ears as the welcome-to-this-world message. The same call is heard wherever there are Muslims, five times a day. The prayers also begin with this pronouncement. Certainly this is the emblem of the Islamic faith. There is no power in the world equal to the power of the One God. Allah is the greatest...

"Allahu-Akbar is the weapon that gives us the courage to challenge all subjugation, political or intellectual. It makes us turn our attention to the Creator and ignore other creations like ourselves. In the jihads in Afghanistan, Kashmir, or Bosnia, as elsewhere, the power of this weapon has been felt by people on both sides of the conflict. In every conflict the shouts of Allahu-Akbar instilled fear in the hearts of the oppressors. It boasted the morale of the mujahideen with new levels of hope and courage. And that is the way it should be. Because Allah is the Greatest." - excerpted from "Allahu Akbar," ALBALAGH

"Shema, Yisrael!" (Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one... - Deut 6:4-9) The "Shema" is the last prayer a Jew utters before he dies. To utter this prayer (a Mitzvah, Torah commandment) while committing murder (a great sin) of another person would be an unthinkable blasphemy to a Jew. If a Jew does not have time to say the whole prayer because death is imminent, he will try to say only the first two words, "Shema, Yisrael..." It is said upon arising in the morning and upon going to sleep at night. It is said when praising God and when beseeching Him. It is the first prayer that a Jewish child is taught to say. It is the last words a Jew says prior to death...

Seth Mandel, the father of 13-year-old Koby Mandel who was bludgeoned to death in a cave by Arab terrorists, spoke at the massive pro-Israel rally in Washington DC in April 2002. He told the following story:

In the Sbarro Pizza bombing which killed 15 people in Jerusalem, five members of a Dutch family were killed. One was a 4-year-old boy named Avraham Yitzhak. As he was lying on the ground -- bleeding, burning and dying -- he said to his father, "Abba, please help me. Save me." His father reached over and held his hand. Together they said the words of the Shema.

Seth Mandel told the DC crowd:

"My son Koby died alone. I didn't have the chance to say the Shema with him. So now I want you to help me say the Shema for the hundreds of Jews who have been killed in Mideast violence. Say the Shema with me in the merit of the boy in Sbarro's. And say the Shema with me in the merit of my son Koby." He then led the crowd of 250,000 in reciting the Shema together. - excerpted from "Mitzvahs - Shema Yisrael," Aish.com (note that the Shema is classified as a "mitzvah" and "good deed," a Torah commandment, and has no association whatsoever with murdering others or killing anyone.)

So here you have contrasted "Allahu Akbar!" and the "Shema," representing Islam and Judaism - Moslem suicide bombers who shout "Allahu Akbar!" as they murder others, and Roi Klein who shouted "Shema, Yisrael!" as he gave his own life to SAVE others.

I guess that kinda says it all...

Lies and Damn Lies

Rice: UN force is not expected to disarm Hezbollah in south Lebanon
By Reuters and Haaretz Service

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was quoted in an American newspaper Thursday as saying that the UN force expected to deploy in south Lebanon will not be tasked with forcibly disarming Hezbollah. - MORE>>

Et tu, USA? WHY DID ISRAEL ACCEPT A KNOWN LIE?

That Bush and Rice are boldfaced liars is obvious, but I want to know what Olmert knew, and WHEN he knew it. I want to know the REAL story of this deal, and not all the lies fed to the public. I want to know whether Kadima was just stupid, and duped by Bush and Rice, whether there was pressure that amounted to blackmail, or to what extent Kadima was a willing participant in the deception and lies.

----------

Stories that caught my eye today:

Iran to conduct large-scale military maneuvers

Report: Israeli defense minister says he was unaware of full extent of Hezbollah threat

Syria to form its own Hezbollah

Syria and Iran Reap the Benefits of Hezbollah Victory

The More Things Change

Shmuel Rosner of Haaretz provides today's humor: Olmert - the end?

For a moment there I thought I was reading about the U.S. midterms! The names had been changed to protect the guilty parties, but the story was pretty much the same...

However, the French, not to be outdone by Rosner, provided this:

French President Doubles Symbolic Force in Lebanon

WOW! Now that's what I call a major farce buildup! No pun intended. I guess the plan is to make Hizballah die laughing...

No, wait, I've got it! It's a secret French plan for getting rid of some of its Moslems! The French Moslem volunteers will be lining up for blocks to sign on for the Lebanon mission to protect and fight alongside Hizballah and all the other Moslems from Indonesia and Malaysia!

The Day of the Erev Rav...

From Chardal blog:

Formula to fight a war and win it, too:

The way to end the current mess is to recognize, as doresh does, that all "good" (i.e. religious) Muslims hate Israel and want to destroy it, as they and their leaders have been saying very publicly. - MORE>>

I totally agree with Raglei Mevaser in this excellent post on Chardal. Israel has allowed the nations to impose a false morality as the standard for its conduct, rather than to rely on Torah as the standard. Remember, too, the Erev Rav and the golden calf.

The scheming going on right now behind the scenes is a wonder to behold. From DEBKA comes this:

Bush administration acts fast to bring France aboard the Lebanon multinational force, gives Israel tacit go-ahead for air strikes against arms trucks from Syria... - MORE>>

Why would Israel need such approval from the U.S.? Such a move would be entirely defensive on Israel's part. I suppose I should have said "a wonder NOT to behold," as the only thing obvious here is that the public will never know the whole truth about why the war was stopped. All we have gotten through the whole mess is disinformation from every source! I find it hard to believe that even Olmert would have preferred this ending, as it is sure to cost him politically and endanger his 'disengagement' plans. It just does not make sense. The U.S. had to bring big time pressure to bear. It's the only thing that makes sense.

The Israel-Hizballah war threatened a pan-Islamic uprising across the Middle East, and seriously threatened to cause big problems for the U.S. in Iraq, and oil could quickly become a weapon against the West. All in all, not good for the U.S. midterm election.

But the main reason the brakes were put on, I believe, is that the U.S. just does not have the troops and resources to fight a wider war right now. This is why Iran is so emboldened, as they know the U.S. is divided politically, stretched thin militarily, and the price of oil could play havoc with the world economy if it gets any higher. So Iran is threatening to use oil as a weapon, and fully intends to defy the UN on its nuclear program. Iran is now basically in control of Lebanon, and has stirred up the Shiites of Iraq against the U.S.

Now we are seeing a multi-national UN force shaping up that will draw its troops from Moslem nations like Turkey, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Turkey has already stated that its troops will not remain neutral in Lebanon, and France is waffling all over the place about its committment.

In short, I don't see how it can get much worse for Israel. About the only hope is that Olmert and Kadima will come crashing down, and some real leaders will take their place who will tell the U.S. and the "international community" to take a hike, and then clean house in Lebanon. I am not optimistic.

A war with Iran would quickly become a war with the entire Islamic world, and the price of oil would go ballistic along with the missiles! The Europeans would NOT help us and would likely undermine us at every opportunity. Russia and China would also make the most of the opportunity, as would North Korea and every other rougue regime that hates the U.S. and Israel.

It's a bleak picture, and yet I believe it is a war we cannot avoid and that it will come any way. So I say better now than later, as the enemy isn't getting any weaker with time. Right now, we could win such a war. It might take nukes to do it, or maybe not, but we could win. I'm not so sure about five years down the line.

So why don't we just go ahead and get it over with? Well, the only thing I can figure is that George Bush really believes all that business about Islam being a "religion of peace," and really believes he can transform the Middle East "on the cheap." He believes in Bush 41's vision of a prosperous and peaceful "new world order." And he believes the Moslems will buy into it once they have a taste of democracy, and Western style freedom and prosperity.

He is wrong. The Islamic terrorists are not a minority who have hijacked Islam, as Bush keeps telling everyone. The Islamic terrorists are practicing fundamental Islam, and they want no part of Western civilization. They want a world under Islam and Islamic law. They want a world without Jews and Christians, or any other competing systems of religion or secular philosophy. And they are the majority of Moslems. It's the so-called "moderates" who are the minority.

Western civilization, on the other hand, is caught up in a dowward spiral of self-doubt and self-hatred, of rot and moral corruption from within, and is behaving downright suicidal. Most people in the West are not even willing to defend it anymore if its too much trouble and disrupts their decadent lifestyle. They believe all cultures and religions are of equal worth, and all morals are relative, so what's there to defend?

Peretz Appoints Commission

Defense Minister Peretz Appoints Investigative Commission
18:56 Aug 16, '06 / 22 Av 5766

(IsraelNN.com) Defense Minister Amir Peretz has appointed an independent investigative committee to examine the actions and functioning of the IDF before and during the month-long engagement in Lebanon against the Hizbullah terror organization. The commission is to present an intermediate report in three weeks' time. - MORE>>

The IDF didn't function all that badly from a military point of view. It was the constant waffling of the politicians and delay in committing the necessary ground forces that was the problem. The air campaign was good, and had good results, but you have to follow up with enough boots on the ground.

The biggest problem for the IDF was the anti-tank weapons that Hizballah had. From what I have heard, they were recent Russian models and very effective. About thirty Merkava tanks were destroyed by these weapons, maybe more.

The U.S. military is having good results from the Stryker vehicles in terms of withstanding IED's and preventing KIA's, so perhaps that might be something for the IDF to consider, but you still need the tanks.

At this point I might point out that while experts say air campaigns in anti-guerilla operations are limited in their effectiveness, I would contend that another way to fight against guerillas without a lot of boots on the ground is to just pound the cities into rubble - for years if necessary.

One of the key components of guerilla war is to for the guerillas to break the will, and drain the resources of the larger power over a prolonged period of time. Boots on the ground mean the body count goes up, and that eats away at the will of the larger power, especially with today's media doing hour by hour, play-by-play coverage. Sooner or later, it becomes a major political and economic liability for the larger power, and that's what the guerillas count on rather than an outright military victory.

An air campaign that just keeps up, year after year, keeps the body count for the larger power at a minimum, and breaks the civilian population and infrastructure that the guerillas depend on.

The problem here, of course, is that you have to constantly bomb cities and towns, factories, power and water supply, airports, EVERYTING, and so a lot of civilians are killed and made to suffer. This presents the same moral questions as the carpet bombing of German cities, and the use of the atomic bomb on Japanese cities in World War II. It's a form of "total war."

What we saw in southern Lebanon is that Hizballah is totally embedded in the civilian population. In fact, it is the civilians who ARE Hizballah. The whole family will be Hizballah, from the little kiddies to the mommies and daddies. They ALL want to kill you. They sleep with RPG's, anti-tank weapons, guns, and missiles under their beds! I have one video of Katyushas being shot out of a bedroom window of a house in Qana! So we must ask ourselves if these are really 'innocent civilians.' No, they are combatants.

This is what you face in Lebanon. Hizballah is an ideology embedded in the people from birth. The political and military wings of Hizballah, the militia, is the people themselves. It is an expression of both their personal and national identities. It is what you call "grassroots." So it is the entire people you are fighting.

----------

BREAKING: Israel has halted its troop withdrawal from Lebanon in view of the fact that the UN resolution for now seems dead in the water and unacceptable to Israel.

The proposed composition of the UN force is France, Italy, Turkey, Indonesia, and Malaysia, but so far no one has actually committed anything definite, and Israel may have a problem with this composition. France now says it wants more clarification of force's mandate and powers before committing more troops.

See, SE Asian Muslim Nations Commit Troops to UNIFIL

See also, Livni in UN: Agreement already violated

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud, in an interview with Sheppard Smith of Fox News, said today that Hizballah did not start the war, and then he THANKED Hizballah for defending Lebanon! He condemned both the U.S. and Israeli governments for their actions, and said they planned the war against Lebanon in advance and that they were the aggressors!

The Lebanese General in charge of the deployment of the LA to the south said today that, "We will not have any confrontations with our Hizballah brothers."

Well, I tried to warn everyone from the beginning that the Lebanese government was no friend of the U.S. or Israel, and that it was pro-Hizballah. The Lebanese Army, if anything, will fight alongside Hizballah, and help rearm them. So what good is this ceasefire agreement? It is not worth the paper it's written on. The Lebanese government is a rogue terrorist government, and to expect it to be built up into some kind of a "peace partner" is ludicrous. Surely Bush and Rice knew this all along. If they didn't, then that is even more scary. The whole point of UN resolution 1701 was to finally implement UN resolution 1559, and now it is obvious that will never happen unless Israel does it through war.

Israel better get its act together and fast, because this is all far from over.

As for having a firm ally in the United States, Israel had better not count on it.

----------

Is it just my imagination, or has Sheppard Smith had a sudden awakening? At the start of the war, all his reports were 'gloom and doom' for the IDF, but the other day in the Beirut rubble he had a Hizballah fighter shove an AK-47 in his face and tell him and his crew not to film what he was filming - namely Hizballah fighters with guns. Guess no one in Israel ever shoved a gun in his face! Now ole Shep is asking a lot of tough questions about Lebanon, Hizballah, and the ceasefire agreement. Seems to me the tone of his reports are not quite the same since the 'incident.' Maybe it's just my imagination...

----------

Most ridiculous item of the day, as reported in the JP:

White House: Disarming Hizbullah is Lebanon's
duty.

The White House Spokesman said on Wednesday that it was the Lebanese government's duty to disarm Hizbullah. The process was expected to be prolonged, the official said.

Thanks, Jerusalem Post, I really needed a good laugh today! Anyone care to speculate on exactly how "prolonged" this disarmament process might be? Notice also that the "White House Spokesman" didn't say exactly WHEN the disarmament of Hizballah would actually begin, either. Oh what a tangled web we weave....

Bush and Rice have done great harm to America's prestige with this phony deal. Why would any sane nation ever again trust the U.S. as an ally after this? Why would any sane nation ever again take the U.S. government at its word? No wonder the U.S. has trouble finding any allies in the war on terror! The U.S. government made promises and guarantees to Israel in relation to this deal, and now it is all worth NOHTING. Some 'leader' of the free world. The whole thing stinks to high heaven. It's as phony as Bush and Rice.

UN resolutions solve nothing

Lebanese Ceasefire Plan in Jeopardy
09:41 Aug 16, '06 / 22 Av 5766
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

The U.N. ceasefire plan is falling apart, leaving the possibility Hizbullah will re-arm itself while Israel's hands are tied by international pressure. - MORE>>

As if we didn't already know this!

The aim of war is VICTORY, and NOT a UN resolution. Get a clue already!

If you worry about the opinion of the "international community" you will fall victim to endless PC nonsense. Nor is the "international community" the standard for determining "the moral high ground."

If UN resolutions could solve anything by themselves, then we could do away with every police department in the world, and just pass a UN resolution telling criminals to stop committing crimes! Just like the law is useless without the police, UN resolutions to control rogue states and terrorist organizations are useless without the military force to back them up.

So the question remains: Who will disarm Hizballah and enforce UN resolution 1701?

Please... PLEASE dont tell me the French!!!

From this morning's Jerusalem Post:

Israel threatens to resume war if Hizbullah refuses to disarm
Aug. 16, 2006 2:09

The IDF will have to resume operations in Lebanon if the expanded United Nations force being assembled does not fulfill its obligation to dismantle Hizbullah, an official in the Prime Minister's Office warned on Tuesday.

Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora and Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah reportedly reached a deal allowing Hizbullah to keep its weapons but refrain from exhibiting them in public. Israeli officials called the arrangement a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which passed over the weekend and was approved on Sunday by the cabinet. - MORE>>

It should now be obvious to anyone with half a brain that the word of the Lebanese government is as worthless as the resolution itself. For one thing, it was not the Lebanese government that was fighting Israel, it was Hizballah. So the idea of an agreement that was not between the two parties involved was ridiculous from the git-go. The whole thing was a non-starter.

Aside from why the Israeli government was stupid enough to go along with the whole Bush/Rice charade in the first place, what is puzzling to me is why the war has not already resumed now that it is obvious the resolution will never be enforced.

Betrayal of Israel by Bush, Rice, and Olmert

Now reports say that the UN "international force" will not be ready and up to strength for A YEAR, according to the UNIFIL General in charge of the force. Okay, was I right? Of course I was. This whole deal is a joke - no, a nightmare!

So there will be no viable force, Lebanese or international, Hizballah will not disarm or be removed from southern Lebanon, and Israel does not even have its soldiers back! The Lebanese Defense Minister today said it is not the job of the Lebanese Army to disarm Hizballah, and Ahmadinejad says with this victory 'god has fullfilled his promise.'

So what happened to a 'resolution with teeth,' Condi? What happened to 'we can't return to the status quo'? What happened to 'Hizballah cannot remain a state-within-a-state'? It's been two days, and already the resolution is going belly up in the water. WHO is going to enforce it now Condi? Who will disarm Hizballah and insure safety on Israel's northern border? You made promises and gave assurances to Israel. Everyone knew the deal would be worthless, so you had to know it also. You are, therefore, a liar. Bush is a liar. John Bolton is a liar. You are all disgusting liars!

And this is what Bush and Olmert call a "victory"? How stupid do they think people are?

Bush says Hizballah must make a "choice." That they cannot participate in Lebanese politics or the "international community" while having one foot in "democracy" and one foot in "terror." Haaaaaaaa!!!! Of course they can, and they WILL. They have all the guns, AND they have the backing of the people of Lebanon. Democracy in Islamic countries will only mean that Islam will be voted into power, and that means war and terror. As for the "international community," the Islamists are at war with it, and see it as a weak infidel abomination. They don't give a damn about the UN or the "international community."

Either Bush is the dumbest man alive, OR, he is himself in league with the Islamists (likely because of oil). Why else would he believe all that "religion of peace" crap?

The "war on terror" (and in Iraq) is not just a mismanaged joke, it's a bold faced lie. Otherwise, WHY DID THE U.S. JUST SURRENDER TO HIZBALLAH, SYRIA, AND IRAN? AND OLMERT WENT ALONG WITH IT!!! And why should Hizballah break the ceasefire? They have been given everything they want! But, of course, now that they are emboldened, they just might want even more...

Assad: American plan for a new Mideast has collapsed

Hizbullah likely to retain weapons

Lebanese army not to disarm Hezbollah: defense minister

No firm pledges on UN force for Lebanon but talks underway: UN

The beginning of the end of the Zionist State of "Israel"...? (Warning - Al Manar Terrorist Website)

Nasrallah declares unprecedented historic & strategic victory over Zionist state (Warning - Al Manar Terrorist Website)

Ahmadinejad gives 'victory speech' before masses

Syria: Resistance shows Arab strength

Iranian missiles ready to hit Tel Aviv says cleric

Top cleric Ahmad Khatami warned that Iran would retaliate with ballistic missile strikes against Tel Aviv if it comes under attack by the United States and Israel

Iranian cleric: We'll hit Tel Aviv over 'iota' of Israeli aggression

Iran's Ahmadinejad rejects UN nuclear resolution

After Action Report: Winners and Losers in the Hezbollah-Israel War

A Policy of Disaster

Not Over Over There - Cal Thomas

Interesting how NOW all the major commentators like Thomas, Hannity, Barnes, and Krauthammer are all saying what I was saying at the beginning!
